Next year your child/ren will be entering into Year Four. As a result they will be entering into the first year of the iPad 1:1 program.

I am writing to inform you that Mr Grant Williams has let me know that he will not be continuing to operate the school canteen as a business in 2019. I would like to thank Grant and his late wife Kristy for their hard work in running such a wonderful canteen over the past six years.
I am writing to inform you of a change to the operation of our uniform shop that will take effect from 10th December 2018. From this date forward the uniform shop will be closing and the purchase of the St Bernadette’s uniform will be outsourced to Hot Klobba/Hip Pocket in Port Kennedy.
On behalf of the Executive Director of Catholic Education, Dr Debra Sayce, I would like to announce that Ms Maureen Barrett has been appointed as Principal at St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School, Port Kennedy. Maureen will commence in this role on 1st January 2019.
On Thursday 8th of November from 1:30 to 3pm the school will be hosting a “Colour Run” to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation in honour of Mrs Burns’ son who passed away from epilepsy in 2016. Students will run a short course on the oval, whilst collecting coloured powder on their clothes. Our Year 6 students will be assisting in organising this event.
All Education Ministers from Commonwealth, state and territory governments endorsed the implementation of a Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) in all Australian schools (government, independent and Catholic).
I would like to take this opportunity to let you know about 123 Magic™ & Emotion Coaching, a discipline program that we will be using in the school. It is a program that incorporates specific, gentle-but-firm techniques to stop undesirable behaviour as well as to encourage positive behaviour.
Last year a number of classes trialled the use of Seesaw in their classrooms.
Seesaw is an APP that allows photos of students and their work to be shared with the parent, giving a regular snapshot of learning in the classroom.
